Wow. I definetly have to check this step by step guide to build your own Processing-controlled car.
Toy Hacking is one of the best way to learn how to deal with little hardware. Very well detailed.

Some Features:

All logic controlling the vehicle is performed in a Processing program running on remote computer. The Arduino program listens for commands from the remote computer.
Bi-directional wireless communication over XBee radios with (theoretical) 1-mile range. I’ve accomplished 1/4 mile range with these radios.
Sensor events are transmitted from the vehicle to the controlling computer. This vehicle has 3 microswitches – two on front bumper and one at the rear.
Original circuitry of vehicle replaced with dual H-Bridge circuit to control drive motor and turn motor. Drive motor is controlled with variable speed.
Power: Vehicle motors powered by 4 AA batteries. Arduino with XBee shield powered by 9V battery mounted at front of vehicle.
Simple communications protocol: 2 byte commands from controller to vehicle, one byte sensor readings from vehicle to controller.

EZ-Expander Shield for Arduino

As I’m reading, the “EZ-Expander shield is available for purchase in the nootropic design store and the new Makers Market operated by Make Magazine. It can be purchased as a kit for only US$12.95 (that’s less than a dollar per new pin!), or fully assembled and tested for US$17.95. “

It’s basically a multiplexer shield, enlarging the Arduino pinOuts possibilities of 13 pins (that are to be used as outputs).
Nice price, as the advert says less than a dollar per new pin!

ning around the internet you can find the strangest projects.
This happen to be one of the wildest: working after an open source computer car “to take automotive computer technology to the next level“.
I don’t know whether this project is linked to Mpeguino, but the sponsor page make me doubt it.
Shall we wait for the true open source car, don’t we??

Simple Binary Clock for Arduino

Binary clock using Arduino.

If someone wants to make the circuit all it is is each LED is connected to a digital pin from 1-13, and 2 tact switches connected to analog 0 and 5. The LED numbers are the right most column bottom LED is LED 1 and counts up. The next column over would be LED 5 and counts up and so on.

Review: X10 Home Automation with Arduino

After looking here and there, I could find this Sept ’09 article found on geekboy. As the site was down I found it googling on willshouse‘s blog. anyway. Mike Parks’ example about simple X-10 triggering via RFID using the free SSH/telnet client PuTTY.

In this example, I control 1 device (on X10 circuit A, device 1). I initally turn the device off. When the RFID tag I am looking for is read, I turn the lights on. Next time that tag is read, I turn the lights off. I acknowledge various changes by providing feedback to the user via blinking LEDs and serial comms to the PC.
